How to Find Us

The Department of Sexual Health is located in Area R of the hospital. Area R is sign-posted at all entrances of the hospital.

 

Getting to Northampton General Hospital

Northampton General Hospital is located between the Billing Road and Bedford Road approximately half a mile east of the town centre. The main car park is accessed from the Cliftonville Road entrance.

 

Traveling from the North (M1)

Leave the M1 at Junction 15, turn left on to the A508 Northampton Road. Continue for 3 miles on this road ignoring exits for Wootton, Ring Road West / Town Centre and Brackmills. Take the next available exit - A428 Bedford / Town Centre - down to the large roundabout. Take the first exit from the roundabout - A428 Town Centre. Get into the right hand lane; turn right at traffic lights onto Cliftonville Road. Continue up Cliftonville Road. The entrance to the hospital is on your left.

 

Traveling from the South (M1)

Leave M1 at Junction 15, turn right on to A508 Northampton Road. Then follow instructions for 'Travelling from the North'.

 

Parking in Northampton General Hospital

Visitors are asked to note that parking enforcement is in operation on the hospital site to deter illegal parking. A charge is made for parking. Details of charges are displayed at all vehicle entrances to the hospital.

Ticket machines in Pay on Foot Car Parks 1 and 2 do give change and accept both notes and coins. Please note that other (Pay and Display) ticket machines do not give change, and accept 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, and 1 coins only. Additional disabled parking spaces are located near to all major entrances to the hospital.

 

Using public transport in Northampton

By Bus - Buses Nos.5b, 20 stop on the Billing Road near to the main entrance of the hospital.

By Rail - Northampton Railway Station is approximately half a mile west of the town centre and 1 mile from the Hospital (follow road signs to General Hospital). There is a taxi rank at the station.
