What is Occupational Health?SEQOHS image

Occupational Health is a speciality of medicine concerned with identifying and preventing ill health in the work place.   It is also concerned with ensuring that there is nothing in an individual’s medical history that will affect the way they work or put them at risk whilst at work.   Occupational Health is therefore important at every stage of the work cycle, from recruitment to retirement.

Communicare are the Occupational Health company of Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.  We are owned and managed by NHFT and provide services internally for the staff of the Trust as well as working with other organisations within Northamptonshire. Our Role for Staff

As with any organisation, NHFT's staff are its most important asset.  Our role is to make sure that staff have access to the services and information that they need to be healthy, happy and safe at work.

The Occupational Health Team aim to be available to meet staff needs at all times.  You can find examples of our services on the 'Help for Staff'' page.
