Your rights under the Mental Health Act

 Patients' rights are no longer lost in translation thanks to a new series of leaflets produced by the Mental Health Act Administration team at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

These new leaflets, which are based on Department of Health information and advice on patients' rights when detained under the Mental Health Act, come in 25 different languages and are available to download in both written and video formats. The videos also include the material in British Sign Language.

The project has been supported by NHS East Midlands and mental health trusts across the country, who have helped to fund the production of the leaflets and videos. It has also been supported by a wide range of volunteers from across Northamptonshire who read the leaflets for the videos.

The leaflets and videos are all free to download. We very much hope that patients, carers, voluntary organisations and health services find them useful.
